Coastwise begins with San Pedro. For more than 50 years, the Taus family has cared for this community's health, rooted in the same neighborhood and guided by the same values across generations. People here knew where to go and who they would see. That continuity, the sense of being known by the person caring for you, is the thread that runs through everything Coastwise does today.
Steve Taus II, LMFT, grew up watching his family care for patients and neighbors. He came to believe that emotional and psychological health are inseparable from physical well-being, that a person cannot be treated as a single complaint. In 2008, he expanded the family medical practice into psychotherapy, bringing a new dimension of care to the community he grew up in. Today he leads Coastwise alongside Daniela Zuanich, who co-leads the practice.
The path from a neighborhood medical practice to a carefully matched therapy practice followed naturally from one idea: people heal best when their care is personal.
